Preschool applications for the 2014-2015 year are now being accepted.  Please see our Preschool page for more details.
Volunteers are needed again to bring furniture back into the Fellowship hall on Tuesday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m.


Wednesday Night meal for October 29th, will be loaded po-tato soup, grilled cheese sandwich and desert. Sign-up sheet will be in Narthex.


Trunk “R” Treat is this Friday, the 31st from 6-7:30 p.m.
Please arrive by 5:30 pm to set up. Presently we have 14 signed up and we are praying we will meet our goal of 25 cars. Our VBS children have been invited as well as all 52 pre-school children & teachers, therefore there is BIG potential for this outreach to the community. Make sure you have enough candy to hand out. Thank you to those members that have been generous in donating candy.


Remember to set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night, November 1st.


Christmas Gifts for Hands of Hope! The donations are coming in and to date we have received 6 beauty baskets; 13 basketballs; 11 board games 8-12 years; and 7 large Tonka trucks. We only need 15 of each. Drop off box is located in the Narthex. Deadline is Sunday, Nov. 9.


UMW ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER
Sunday, November 23
The United Methodist Women will host our annual thanksgiving dinner to be held after the 11:00 a.m. worship service on November 23. Dessert donations will be greatly appreciated. We will have a sign-up sheet in the Narthex closer to the date for those who want to help with the serving and/or donating a dessert.


Teachers still needed for Middle School (Dec. 7-Feb. 22) & Children’s Church during 11:00 am service. Children’s Church is a monthly rotation. Please remember our Child Abuse Prevention Policy & Procedures requires that a person must have attended S.U.M.C. for 6 months prior to working with children and/or youth We must have 2 unrelated members for both positions. Christmas Gifts for Hands of Hope!
Each year we collect items for the Christmas celebration and this year we will once again begin our collection. The items this year include: 15 beauty baskets for teens; 15 basketballs; 15 board games 8-12 years; and 15 large Tonka trucks. Drop off boxes are located in the Narthex. Sunday, November 9 is the last day to bring these items.


Street ministry is something all ages can take part in and we would love to have you with us.  Join us on the third Saturday of every month.  Another way to help with this ministry is providing supplies.          
Shopping list for each month                                       
4 loaves of bread (48 sandwiches)    
1 jar peanut butter 
24 Granola bars  
1 jar grape jam  
24 bottled waters  
1lb. of deli ham  
24 lemonade powder(single mix-in)  
24 indiv. bag chips 
24 oatmeal cream pies  
1 24ct pkg. slice cheese 
24 Gala apples  
24 lunch size paper bags 
48 sandwich Zip-lock bags
December through March, instead of sandwich and chips, we pack homemade chili and dinner rolls for a hot meal.


Fellowship Breakfast  
We will continue to meet for breakfast at K&W Cafeteria, Crossroads the first  Thursday of each month.


The College Ministries needs all college student’s information. Forms are located in the Narthex. Return to Gloria or Gary Gibson or put in the offering plate. We have received 5 student’s info so far. We need this for ALL students; NEW as well as RETURNING students ASAP.


Preschool is selling boxed coffee & tea to raise money for playground rubber mulch.
Each packet is $10.00. Order sheet is on table in educational hall.


HVAC/Fellowship Hall Repair Update: Contributions for the heating & air condition unit replacement for the education wing & repair work for the fellowship hall are still being received. To date we have received: $13,441.00 toward our total goal of $24,000.00 to replace the HV/AC unit & repair work on fellowship hall The HV/AC unit cost is $13,588.00 & repair work on the fellowship hall should be approximately $10,000.00.


Burial plots at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens are available for purchase. These two plots were donated to the church. If you need more information please see bulletin board in the Narthex or contact June Lawlor 562-0341.
